Variants, Cost, and Key Features of the Honda Brio

The Honda Brio has undergone many upgrades since its launch, yet its essence as a city slicker has been retained across the various versions. It has maintained its reputation as a spirited car, true to its name, Brio, which means vivacity. Besides, several entry-level models received a suffix in compliance with the country’s Low-Cost Green Car (LCGC ) program. These variants are called Honda Brio Satya, with the suffix “Satya” being an Indonesian term.

Variants
The Honda Brio’s latest edition includes five variants. The base trim is the Satya S, the lowest priced in the Honda Brio 2024 series. This is followed by the Satya E variant.

This trim is available in two transmission modes, manual and CVT. The models with CVT have a slightly higher price tag than the manual ones. At the higher end is the Honda Brio RS. Similar to Satya E, the RS trim is also variable in two transmission modes, manual and CVT.

Cost
The Honda Brio is one of the most affordable cars in the category of small hatchbacks. It is quite competitively priced compared to other cars in the same segment. Its base trim is priced at around IDR 167,900,000. That said, the price may change depending on the trim and transmission mode one opts for in the case of models with CVT.

Besides, the prices may also change depending on the dealership, location, taxes, and extra costs for additional features and add-ons. While the highest-priced model is available for around IDR 243,100,000, the cost can increase by around IDR 2,500,000 if one opts for a two-tone colour. In general, the approximate prices of the different variants are as follows:

  • Honda Brio Satya S (manual) – IDR 167,900,000
  • Honda Brio Satya E (manual) – IDR 182,800,000
  • Honda Brio Satya E CVT – IDR 198,300,000
  • Honda Brio RS (manual) – IDR 243,100,000
  • Honda Brio RS CVT – IDR 253,100,000

These prices are based on first car ownership. In the case of preowned cars or older models from previous years, such as the Honda Brio 2023 series, the prices can drop further.

Under the hood
All the variants of the Honda Brio are powered by a 1.2L petrol engine with a 4-cylinder 16-valve SOHC. Besides, it can draw in a power of around 89 hp with a torque of approximately 110 Nm. This ensures that the compact hatchback performs fairly well on city roads. Whether it is a daily commute or a trip to the city’s best spots, the Brio can offer a comfortable ride. Its suspension system ensures the car seamlessly rides over bumps and dents in the road. Aside from this, all the components under the hood have been designed to comply with the EURO 4 Compliance emission standards. This ensures that the car releases exhaust gases that have low carbon content. Finally, its performance is taken to the next level with the incorporation of the Eco Indicator feature that helps to save more fuel.

When driving at low speeds, the Eco Indicator will light up to indicate that one has implemented a fuel-efficient way of driving.

Exterior
While the Brio has been equipped with practical and functional mechanics under the hood, it still looks stylish enough to turn heads on the road. It looks quite sleek with contemporary exterior features. For instance, the latest versions of the Honda Brio come with brand-new headlamps fitted with LED daytime running lights. This tapered and dynamic design renders a stunning effect on the car’s overall look. Besides this, the elegant chrome front grille design adds to the style factor of the hatchback. The design of the front grille has been done by adopting the concept of Solid Wing Face. These have been coupled with a touch of glossy chrome that lends a stylish impression to the car. Along with the elegant front design, the Brio has a modern rear bumper design. Additionally, the 14-inch two-tone alloy wheel adds to the overall modern aesthetics of the car.

Interior
The five-seater Honda Brio is quite spacious, even for a compact hatchback. This expanse of space is elevated further by the overall ambience of comfort. Besides, all the variants have cabins dressed in grey and black upholstery, rendering elegant and stylish aesthetics. That said, the higher variant of the Honda Brio RS comes with a seat colour scheme of black and red that gives it a sporty aura. The sporty feel is carried forward by including the meter cluster in the dashboard. This has a multi-information LCD with offbeat orange lighting. Plus, extra lighting has been added to the shifter, making it easier to work the transmission even during nighttime. In addition to this, the front has a day/night rearview mirror. This enables the driver to have a safe driving experience by adjusting the mirror to avoid the reflection of light from other vehicles.

When it comes to storage, the latest Honda Brio has ample space in the cabin as well as in the trunk. The cabin has many cubby holes in the doors, cup holders in the front and rear console, seatback pockets behind the front seats, and a glove box next to the dashboard. In addition to these in-cabin storage spaces, the Brio has a trunk space of around 258 litres. This can easily hold everything from grocery bags to suitcases.
