Stretching and massaging the neck and base of the scalp will give you relaxation as it increases the blood flow.

  • Hot or cold therapy

All of us know that trick and have tried it many times. A change in temperature can give you relief from the severe pain of a migraine. Both cold and hot therapy works. When you apply hot bags, it will promote muscle relaxation and you will get relief from pain.   • Stay in dark

Light is not good when you have a migraine attack.

The brightness of the light can worsen a headache. Stay away from light as far as possible when you suffer from migraine pain. Lie down peacefully in a dark and quiet room, and it is one way you can reduce a migraine headache.

  • Take medicine early

Do not wait to take your migraine pains medicine until the pain gets worse. Start the medicine as early as possible during the prodromal phase of the attack. The signs of the prodromal phase include mood changes, sensitivity to light, fatigue, nausea etc.

  • Have one cup of coffee

You may get relief from the severe pain by drinking a cup of hot coffee. Most of the migraine pains medicine has a certain amount of caffeine. Make sure you do not drink more coffee as the caffeine can further worsen a migraine.
