Under the hood
In terms of engine, transmission, and overall performance, the new GMC Sierra 2500HD has a standard 6.6-liter V-8 engine that churns out 464 pound-feet torque and 401 horsepower paired with a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive with six speed automatic transmission.
They also offer the AT4 trim with 4WD if you are looking for a more rugged experience with offroad suspension for some countryside driving.
Safety
The new GMC Sierra 2500HD offers driver-assisted features at an extra cost, which are not originally included in its standard edition. Some of the safety features include Forward-collision Warning with Automated Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Rear-cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Monitoring. However, Sierra’s comprehensive camera system is one of its notable features that offers different viewing angles. It also allows the driver to see the inside of the cargo bed on the infotainment system screen to check cargo, help with gooseneck hitching, or the fifth wheel. The Driver Alert Package, costing approximately $645, also includes Safety Alert Seat, IntelliBeam® auto high beams, and Following Distance Indicator.
Interiors, comfort, and everything else
The new GMC Sierra 2500HD is a spacious pickup and is fitted with a host of luxurious features. There are also options like an HVAC system with dual-zone climate control and rear seat outlets, heated steering wheel and heated and cooled front seats. Apart from this, the GMC pickup truck has multiple cubby spaces and long cargo boxes, which can be customized with LED lighting, heated and auto dimming upper glass, and movable tie-downs. One of Sierra 2500HD’s notable features is the multifunction tailgate, which has six different functions that help loading, unloading, and accessing the cargo box. Hence, the makers of the new GMC Sierra 2500HD have prioritized on practicality and versatility over comfort and styling.
When it comes to infotainment and connectivity, GMC’s new pickup comes fitted with an infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Some trim levels have an 8.0-inch screen with additional charging ports and mobile hotspots. Apart from this, its system includes a set of easily accessible rotary knobs and physical buttons. The premium trims have larger touchscreen with upgraded built-in navigation, SiriusXM® satellite radio, and Bose® Audio system.
